What can & can’t go in a skip bin
Not everything can go in a skip bin.
Here’s a quick guide to what’s fine and what needs to be kept out.
What you can put in
General waste and most common materials are fine, including:
Household waste
Furniture
Green waste (branches, leaves, grass)
Timber
Plastics
Cardboard & packaging
Renovation waste (tiles, cabinetry, etc.)
Small amounts of bricks and concrete
Please note all mattresses and bed bases will incur a surcharge of $65 per item inline with tip fees.
The following items are not accepted in general skip bins:
Asbestos
Chemicals or hazardous waste
Paints and solvents
Oils and fuels
Gas bottles
Batteries
Tyres
Liquid waste
Medical or clinical waste
What can’t go in
A couple of things to note
Heavy materials like bricks and concrete may need a specific bin type
Overfilling bins (above the rim) isn’t allowed for transport safety
If you’re unsure about something, it’s always best to check first
